Dallas-based Southwest Airlines rolls out spring sale with $49 fares

The city of Garland is calling our attention to what is surely one of its most stellar assets: its bountiful selection of pho.

Residents know that Garland is a diverse city, with populations from several countries such as Mexico, Guatemala, Africa, and Vietnam. In fact, Garland boasts the 14th largest Vietnamese population in the U.S.

The happy byproduct: more than 20 authentic, family-run restaurants that savor Northern and Southern styles and specialties.

To celebrate this rich diversity, the city is inviting pho lovers to participate in Garland Pho Real Trail, which comes to a close on National Pho Day on January 30.

According to a release, the idea for The Pho Trail was a result of a watercooler conversation. Veronica Maldonado, the Marketing & Communications Manager for Garland Convention & Visitors Bureau, was new to Garland and was fielding tips from coworkers regarding Garland’s vibrant food scene.

This led to the idea of a trail, similar to a taco trail or a margarita trail – but with pho.

They knew they were on the right track after discovering that YouTuber Mike Chen had stopped by for a visit because he heard there were a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in the area.

The goal is to use food to introduce diners to Garland’s diverse and authentic food scene while supporting small business owners.

Partipicating restaurants include 286 Noodle House, Bánh Cuốn Thăng Long, Cháo Vịt Thanh Đa, Đông Hải Restaurant, Đồng Quê Restaurant, Kim Lan Food To Go, Lá Xanh Restaurant, Năm Hứa, Noodlelicious, Pho Ca Dao, Phở Đoàn Restaurant, Quốc Bảo Bakery, Quoc Huong Restaurant, Viet Tofu, Đức Hương Giò Chả, My Canh Restaurant, Phở Bang Restaurant, Phuong Nam Restaurant, and Saigon Deli.

They recommend starting your journey on the Garland Pho Real Trail by downloading the Visit Garland Texas app on the App Store or Google Play. Create an account and once you visit one of the restaurants, check in to track your favorites and win some prizes.
