February 3 is National Wear Red Day. The American Heart Association created this special day as part of an awareness program for heart disease -- the number-one killer of women in the United States.

People across DFW are teaming up to show support for womens heart health. Even the multicolored lights on the Dallas Omni Hotel were turned to red Thursday night and they will remain red on Friday as a show of support.

Go Red! Everyone is encouraged to wear red. Guys, Tiger Woods always wears red during the final round of his golf tourneys. Surely you have a red golf shirt, sweater or tie. Be bold and show your support.

Ladies, we all know that red is sexy. Can you pull off a red dress? If  not, try a pop of red (top, sweater, t-shirt) with black slacks or jeans. If youre like me -- I mostly wear black -- then add red lipstick or accessories.

The Cool Kids Are Wearing It Even my daughters elementary school is encouraging everyone to wear red on Friday. She will be sporting a red t-shirt with a sequined heart and tulle skirt that I found at Target. Its super cute.

What a difference a year makes. Its hard to believe that this week last year DFW was experiencing temperatures around 0 degrees and the ground was covered with ice and snow.
