Cowboys training camp 2024: Jalen Tolbert shines on Day 1
With the offseason finally behind us, it’s time to get back to football and see the Dallas Cowboys back in action. Although there are still question marks to be answered and players staying away as they seek a new deal, there was still football action to take in on Thursday afternoon.
With so many young players needing to step up and jobs to be won, every rep will count as the Cowboys draw ever closer to Week 1 action. If each day is graded individually and someone needs to come out on top, look no further than Year 3 wideout Jalen Tolbert as the man for the crown.
Jalen Tolbert comes out of the blocks hot on Day 1
A lot has been made about the WR3 position being vacant and how the job looks to be Tolbert’s to lose. With the opportunity surely in the back of his mind, Tolbert came out on Day 1 and did not disappoint.
In a red zone period that saw Dak Prescott throw a perfect back-shoulder toss, Tolbert is seen swiveling his hips, turning on a dime, and reaching back to snag what was the best grab of the day to get the offense in prime position at the 1-yard line.
The play drummed up a big chorus of cheers from the onlookers and was just a small glimpse of what many is more to come from Tolbert in 2024.
It’s only Day 1, and there are going to be a lot more practices and chances to come, but as far as getting off on the right foot, there may not have been a Cowboys player who did more for themselves today than Tolbert.
