Dallas Cowboys pass rusher Micah Parsons made NFL history early against Washington
The Dallas Cowboys defense went to work first on Sunday afternoon against the Washington Commanders. You are aware that the game marked the season finale for Dallas.
Finale’s are often filled with big-time storylines in story-telling and Micah Parsons made sure his story for the 2024 season was special.
Parsons reached double-digit sacks on the season as soon as the game began and in the process he became just the fifth player in NFL history to have double-digit sacks in each of the first four years of his career according to our friends at Stathead.
The other four:
- Claude Humphrey (his sacks occurred before they were an official statistic, but they are listed in Pro Football Reference and he should be afforded his due)
- Reggie White
- Derrick Thomas
- Dwight Freeney
All four of them are in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
It goes without saying that Parsons has had an amazing start to his career, you did not need any kind of stat or double-digit sack mark to note that. But this is impressive company for Parsons to find himself in so early in his career and another bullet point on his resumé, one that will likely be referenced when he and the team reach contract negotiations in the offseason.
