1 dead in shooting in West End area of downtown Dallas, police say – WFAA.com






DALLAS — One person is dead after a shooting in the West End area of downtown Dallas early Friday evening, police said.
Police said they responded to the shooting around 5:20 p.m. near the intersection of Pacific Avenue and North Lamar Street.
The victim, an adult male, died in the shooting, but police did not say if he died at the scene or a hospital. The victim was later identified by police as Jabari Griffin.
The shooting stemmed from an argument between the victim and a known suspect, according to police.
The suspect remains at large, police said. Police later identified the suspect as 20-year-old Dezra Walker-Johnson. A description was not made available.
Anyone who may have information on the incident is urged to call police at 214-701-8453. Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment, and they can be reached at 214-373-8477.
