Most city offices, including City Hall, will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25 and Friday, Nov. 26, for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The City of Fort Worth continues to host community COVID-19 vaccine clinics at convenient locations across the city. Vaccinations are available now for children 5-11 years old at Wilkerson Greines Activity Center. Additionally, the locations offer both initial vaccinations as well as booster shots to those eligible, age 12 and up.
The City of Fort Worth adopted a tax rate that will raise more taxes for maintenance and operations than last year’s tax rate.

Most city offices, including City Hall, will be closed Nov. 25-26 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Emergency services will be available as usual.
There will be no solid waste collections (garbage, recycling, yard waste or bulk) on Thanksgiving Day. If your normal pickup day is Thursday, your pickup will be shifted to Friday; Friday service slides to Saturday. Normal collection schedules resume the following Monday, Nov. 29. All residents are allowed two extra bags of garbage next to the cart on their first pickup day following Thanksgiving.
The city’s four drop-off stations and the Environmental Collection Center will be closed Nov. 25-26 and reopen Nov. 27.
Both North and South Animal Campuses will be closed on Thanksgiving Day. Normal operations resume Saturday, Nov. 27. Both Hulen and Alliance PetSmart Adoption Centers will be closed on Thanksgiving Day and will be open on Friday, Nov. 26, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
All Fort Worth Public Library locations will be open 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 24. All libraries will be closed Nov. 25-26.
All community centers will close at 6 p.m. Nov. 24. On Nov. 25, all community centers, Haws Athletic Center, Fort Worth at 6 programs, Log Cabin Village, Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge and the Fort Worth Botanic Garden will be closed. The water features at the Water Gardens will be turned off. Pecan Valley Golf Course will be open 7 a.m.-3 p.m., but other municipal golf courses will be closed. McLeland Tennis Center will be open 9 a.m. to noon.
On Nov. 26, all community centers, Haws Athletic Center, Fort Worth at 6 programs and the Log Cabin Village will be closed. The Botanic Garden grounds, Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge, Water Gardens and municipal golf courses will be open.
To access the Water Department’s automated system for payments and account inquiries or to report an emergency, call the 24-hour call center at 817-392-4477.
On Nov. 25, buses, Trinity Metro’s Southside ZIPZONE and ACCESS paratransit operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule. There will be no Trinity Railway Express, Mercantile or South Tarrant ZIPZONE service. Customer care representatives are available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 817-215-8600. On Nov. 26, Trinity Railway Express operates on a Saturday schedule. Customer care representatives are available 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. at 817-215-8600.
