Verily, part of Google parent, plans operations DFW hub, looking to hire 115 – Dallas Business Journal – Dallas Business Journal

An Alphabet company focused on life sciences and health care is investing in Dallas.
Verily, part of the parent of Google, plans to open an operations hub in North Texas, according to a statement. It will focus on “the maturation of the business,” including scaling its IT infrastructure and commercial organization.
In Verily’s hub, the company expects to hire as many as 115 employees by the end of 2022 — with the capacity to expand into two more floors, housing 115 employees on each of them, according Stephen Gillett, Verily’s COO, in an email. It has more than 1,000 workers, making North Texas a key site.
The Dallas Verily office is set to open in a temporary location early next year. The permanent location, in the Cypress Waters development, is slated to open in June.
The expansion comes as North Texas gets more traction with life sciences. Local companies in the industry have held initial public offerings, attracted funding and garnered attention for their efforts in other ways.
“Dallas has a long legacy of fostering a vibrant business community and represents a growing center for technology and health innovation,” Gillett said in the statement. “This growth is powered by an exciting and talented population of diverse, experienced and highly-skilled professionals we know will add to Verily’s leadership in health technology. Additionally, the new Dallas office will improve cost-competitiveness and collaboration across our operations organization.”
Verily is recruiting for jobs with a focus on IT, sales and marketing and operations in Dallas.
Launched in 2015, Verily develops tools and devices to collect and organize health data — and creates interventions to prevent and manage disease.
