MTX Group is the new No. 1 company for the 2021 Dallas 100, which was announced at an event on Thursday.
The Frisco-based technology consulting firm and 99 other North Texas companies were honored at the 31st annual event at the Omni Dallas. The Dallas 100 is run by The Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship at Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business.

Simon Mak, the Linda A. and Kenneth R. Morris Endowed Director of the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship, said MTX Group’s sales increased more than 2000% in the past three years.
Mak said the combined sales of this year’s top 10 companies grew just over 400% in the past three years.
This year’s top Dallas 100 companies generated over $8.5 billion in combined revenue from 2018 to 2020.
To qualify for the Dallas 100, companies must be headquartered in DFW, and be independent, privately held corporations, proprietorships or partnerships as of May 1, 2021. The company must have at least three years history with sales of at least $500,000, but less than $75 million in the fiscal years 2018-2020.
Companies that submit an application are judged on their sales growth over the last three years as well as have a credit report and character satisfactory to the Dallas 100 judges.
The Dallas Business Journal serves as a media partner for the event.
Dallas-based Clavis Capital Partners was the No. 1 company for the 2020 rankings.
Farmers Branch-based Ontronics topped the 2019 rankings. In 2018, Carrollton-based Revolution Retail Systems was the No. 1 company on the list. In 2017, Frisco-based J.W. Logistics earned the top spot. In 2016, Coppell-based Varidesk took the top spot.
