CeeDee Lamb, Micah Parsons both absent from Dallas Cowboys OTAs

Tuesday is an important day for the Dallas Cowboys as it marks the beginning of OTA action. You have to take the very first steps of a season at some point and we are here. It is important to note that while this is legitimate football activity, it is still what it is, OTAs. Missing them is hardly some dramatic thing worth totally freaking out about given that the football happening is light at best.

With our qualifier out of the way, CeeDee Lamb and Micah Parsons are both reportedly absent.

This is obviously significant given that Lamb and Parsons are both eligible for contract extensions with the team, the latter for the first time in his career.

Both Lamb and Parsons were absent from the Cowboys’ voluntary work back in April, although it was reported that Parsons’ absence was not related to any sort of contract holdout. Again, missing time right now is not worth jumping to any serious conclusions about but it is certainly less than ideal.

At present time CeeDee Lamb is set to enter the final year of his rookie contract with the Cowboys while Parsons still has two years of team control left on his after Dallas picked up his fifth-year option this offseason.

There is also the matter of a Dak Prescott extension hanging in the balance if the Cowboys want him around for the long-term as well. Things are going to get expensive soon enough one way or the other.
