Sunday Night Football picks and live discussion: Bills at Dolphins

The final regular-season game of the 2023 season in the NFL features the Buffalo Bills visiting the Miami Dolphins.

According to DraftKings Sportsbook the Bills are 2.5-point favorites.

This is an open thread for game chat.

Let’s see how the BTB staff picked the game.

Here are their thoughts on why they made their pick.

Dave Halprin: The Dolphins are facing injury problems combined with on-the-field production problems. The Bills have finally found their stride. Take the Bills by 10.

RJ Ochoa: The NFL got the SNF game right and for the purposes of drama I hope that Buffalo is playing for all or nothing. Whatever is ultimately on the line I trust them more at this point and expect them to win in a game that will probably be closer than it needs to be.

Tom Ryle: Not only did the schedule yield a real heavyweight fight for the final game of the regular season, the two games on Saturday could leave the Bills fighting to just make the playoffs. Neither team is in a position to slack off at all with the AFC East crown hanging in the balance, and both are talented. I am just going to go with home field in this one, and pick the Dolphins to take the game and the division.

David Howman: The Bills are riding hot right now while the Dolphins haven’t really looked like themselves, even in their win over the Cowboys. Buffalo won the first in this series by a wide margin, and I think they’ll give a similar performance this week. Give me the Bills 38-20.

Brian Martin: This matchup between the Bills and Dolphins is shaping up to be the game of the week. I think this game is going to be a shootout and I like the mismatch problems Miami creates. Give me the Dolphins in a close one.

Matt Holleran: The Bills are one of, if not the, hottest team in the NFL coming into this Week 18 matchup with the Dolphins. Bradley Chubb’s season-ending injury is really going to hurt the Dolphins, and their defense will be the reason they lose this game. Miami has fought hard all year but their injuries are going to make it difficult for them to have a deep postseason run. Give me Buffalo, 27-20.

OCC: Miami got beat up badly last week, but expect them to bounce back at home, even against a strong Buffalo team. The Bills will find a way to lose this one as Josh Allen looks to lock up the No. 2 spot on the INT season leader list.
