Cowboys Stephon Gilmore injury update: Says he’ll be ready for Packers playoff game

The Dallas Cowboys steamrolled the Washington Commanders 38-10 to clinch their second division title in three years and secure the No.2 seed in the NFC. However, there was some concern for cornerback Stephon Gilmore, who left the game after a shoulder injury just before the end of the first half.

Gilmore was ruled out for the rest of the game. However, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said that Gilmore told him he’ll be good to go for their playoff matchup with the Green Bay Packers.

The former first-round pick returned to the field with his right shoulder in a sling after it popped out of place. For the season, the Cowboys have gotten great bang for their buck out of Gilmore as he logged a career-high 68 tackles and 13 pass breakups, his most since 2019 when he won Defensive Player of the Year.

This was the best news that defensive coordinator Dan Quinn could’ve hoped for as the Cowboys get set to start the playoffs a home next weekend.
